Virginia Beach, VA July 9, 2018 – Atlantic Orthopaedic Specialists (AOS) is pleased to announce that orthopaedic spine surgeon, Charles E. Shuff, MD, FAAOS, ABOS has joined the practice and will begin seeing patients July 16, 2018.
Already an accomplished spine surgeon prior to joining AOS, Dr. Shuff has served as the Director of the Cabell-Huntington Spine Center in Huntington, W.Va., where he had dual appointments in the departments of Orthopedic Surgery and Neurosciences at Marshall University. He has also served as an at-large member of the board of the West Virginia Orthopedic Society.
Dr. Shuff’s practice in Hampton Roads will encompass all aspects of spinal surgery including minimally invasive techniques, surgical care of degenerating cervical and lumbar spine, complex spinal reconstruction for conditions such as scoliosis, kyphosis and spondylolisthesis, and spinal fractures. He will see patients at AOS’ Chesapeake office at 733 Volvo Parkway near Chesapeake Regional and Norfolk offices at 6160 Kempsville Circle by Sentara Leigh Hospital and 160 Kingsley Lane, suite 405 adjacent to Bon Secours DePaul Hospital.
Dr. Shuff was born in Maryland and raised in Harpers Ferry, W.Va. He completed his undergraduate and master’s degrees at West Virginia University in education and sports medicine. He earned his medical degree at Marshall University, Medical School and completed a biomechanics research fellowship and orthopedic surgery residency at the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals. Dr. Shuff completed a spine surgery fellowship at prestigious Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
