On January 5, 2015, Atlantic Orthopaedic Specialists opened OrthoNow, Hampton Roads’ first and only walk-in orthopaedic care clinic. The goal was to serve patients seeking immediate treatment for their minor orthopaedic injuries. Since opening the first OrthoNow in Chesapeake, AOS has opened two more locations in their Virginia Beach and Norfolk offices, and treated more than 10,000 patients.
Patients are seen without an appointment from 4-9 PM at OrthoNow. When asked what makes OrthoNow important to them, patients responded that they like the lower co-pay and shorter wait time versus a trip to the emergency room. Also mentioned consistently is the friendliness and professionalism of the OrthoNow staff. Each OrthoNow location has the capability to provide x-rays, splinting and casting for sprains, strains, fractures, tendinitis, and other minor orthopaedic injuries.
